PFA carries out anti-rabies vaccination drive in city

Mysore/Mysuru: People For Animals (PFA) Mysore, in collaboration with its sister organisation Reaching Out To Animals, has successfully carried out a large-scale Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) drive across the city. During the campaign, 116 community dogs were vaccinated, while 15 dogs received immediate treatment for skin infections and minor ailments.

The drive spanned over 30 localities, including Hinkal, Hunsur Road, Padarayanahalli, Vinayakanagar, Tilaknagar, Mandi Mohalla, Sayyaji Rao Road, Devaraj Urs Road surroundings, Chamarajapuram, Freedom Fighters Park, Siddappa Square, Lakshmipuram, N.R. Mohalla, K.C. Layout, J.C. Nagar, Lalithadripura, Uttanahalli, Hosahundi, Bandipalya, J.P. Nagar, Siddalingeshwara Layout, Navodaya Layout, Mahadevapura, Srirampura, Kuvempunagar, Ashokapuram, Vivekanandanagar, Ramakrishnanagar, Dattagalli  and Kanakadasanagar.

As part of ongoing post-operative care, booster ARV doses were also administered to dogs previously sterilised under the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme.

The field effort was led by Dr. Amardeep Singh, supported by field staff Gopal and Murthy, Manager Anil and dog handlers Manoj & Lal Singh. Their coordinated work ensured smooth operations and effective coverage across diverse parts of the city.

Rabies prevention remains a critical public health priority and both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to making Mysuru safer for animals and citizens through sustained vaccination and awareness efforts.
