Pig hunting at Kukkarahalli Lake !

May 30, 2019

Mysuru: Four youths hunting down a pig in the pristine surroundings of Kukkarahalli Lake and carrying it with the legs tied to a pole, has come to light lately.

On Tuesday, many walkers on the their evening rounds found to their shock and surprise four youths carrying a huge pig tied to a pole on the tank bund. Though the walkers were taken aback, they just took a few photographs and went about their daily routine. Some of them guessed that it could be a wild pig and  kept quiet.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Dr. K.C. Prashant Kumar, speaking to Star of Mysore said that it was not a wild pig but a local one. Hunting wild pig is an offence. It is learnt that stray pigs are found in the nearby areas and one of them must have entered the Lake area. Precautions have been taken to see that such incidents do not recur. Forest Department has requested people to inform them if they find such inhuman acts.
