Plastic, garbage, cows and residents of Vijayanagar

June 22, 2022

Sir,

This is a picture from Vijayanagar 4th Stage, Mysuru, that illustrates indifference to environmental degradation by manufacturers and consumers of plastics. There seems to be an over-dependence on the “authorities” to keep the area clean each day even as we the residents of Vijayanagar dump plastic and other waste on pristine green and open areas each day.

Please don’t turn a blind eye to the manner in which you dispose your daily garbage and plastics. It has a disastrous impact on our environment, degrades the soil, poisons grazing animals and soon all of us as people. Please reach out to the authorities in the MUDA or the Health Officer, Bogadi Town Panchayat for guidance on garbage segregation and disposal. They are adept at dealing with such issues.
