Plays ‘Kurukshetra’ and ‘Tipu Sultan’ staged

Mysuru:  Annapoorneshwari Kala Sangha, Mysuru, in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Mysuru, staged the play ‘Kurukshetra’ to the packed audience at Sri Basaveshwara Temple premises in Allanahalli here recently.

The play was directed by two famous singers of Mysuru — Radha and Shantha. The following artistes enacted the play: Nirmala (Lord Krishna), Manjula Raj (Duryodhana), Kanaka (Dushyasana), Dodda Leela (Bhima), Shivamani (Karna and Arjuna), Dodda Rekha (Vidhura), Jyothi (Rukmini), Radha (Draupadi), Shantha (Sathyabhama) and Dr. N.N. Prahallada (Sowbala Raja Shakuni). Dress and make-up was by Kyathamaranahalli Nagaraj; Music by Karnataka Nataka Academy Awardee Kiragasoor Rajappa; Tabla by Jayaramanna and clarinet by D. Ramu.
