Mysuru: Kodava Samaja, Mysuru had organised a function at Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Metropole Circle) on JLB Road here this morning to mark the 119th birth anniversary of Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa.

The bust of Cariappa in front of the petrol bunk at the circle was garlanded by Kodava Samaja President B.M. Nanaiah, Secretary M.M. Ponnappa, MLAs Vasu, M.K. Somashekar and others. A huge flex with a picture of Cariappa was placed in front of the bust.

Kodava Samaja members urged the Government to install a life size statue of Cariappa at the Circle. Replying to that Vasu said that once the resolution was passed in the MCC, an approval would be sought from the Government to install the statue.

Kodava Samaja members Dr. A.A. Kuttappa, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) C.K. Karumbaya, former Mayors M.J. Ravikumar, H.N. Sreekantaiah, former UoM VC K.S. Rangappa and others were present. Sweets were distributed on the occasion.
