Plea to reduce parking fee atop Chamundi Hill

February 19, 2021

Sir,

The parking fee atop Chamundi Hill is quite expensive. The people of Mysuru visit Chamundi Hill very often and most of the devotees visit the Hill temple twice a week. Shelling out money for parking would definitely become a burden to middle class people who own two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Authorities say that the multilevel car parking is built to avoid congestion around the temple but this is not met, as many suvs are seen parked right beside the temple where even common people used to park their vehicles earlier.

The traffic congestion at the hilltop is due to rush of tourist vehicles that outnumber the local vehicles. So I request the authorities concerned not to burden the localities in post-covid economy by charging hefty fee for parking.
