Mysuru: “I quit medical profession after practising for five years and successfully passed the civil services exam to become an IPS officer,” said City Police Commissioner Dr. A.S. Subrahmanyeswara Rao.

He was speaking after inaugurating Doctor’s Day programme organised by the Mysuru Chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) at a private hotel on Hunsur road here recently.

Pointing out that Medical Science was his favourite subject during his student days, Dr. A.S. Rao said he used to score high marks in exams. Noting that medicine was a noble profession, he opined that society should give medical fraternity its due, considering the challenges that the medical profession is facing today.

Dr. G. Marulasiddappa, Dr. Parameshwar Nayak, Dr. Narayanappa and Dr. H.B. Rajashekar were felicitated for their achievement while Kaushik, Raghav and Shambhavi, who scored high marks in SSLC/PUC were presented Pratibha Puraskara on the occasion. JSS University Registrar Dr. B. Manjunath, IMA, Mysuru President Dr. H. Basavanagoudappa, Treasurer Dr.G.R. Jagannath Babu, Secretary Dr. Suresh Rudrappa, Dr. B.V. Rajagopal and others were present.
