Police Force arrive for Dasara security

Mysuru: The first batch of nearly 2,000 additional Police force, drawn from various districts of the State, have arrived in city for Dasara security.

The Police personnel were briefed after roll call by senior Police Officers in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple today. Nearly 10 KSRP platoons, three CAR platoons and more than 300 Police personnel were deployed across the city as Section 144 is imposed following the controversial Mahisha Dasara. 

The Police personnel, who will be part of Dasara security, will be accommodated in schools, colleges, community halls, Kalyana Mantaps, lodges etc.  Dasara security will be done in two phases — from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5 and from Oct. 6 to Oct. 8. 

The second batch of additional Police is expected to arrive in the first week of October. 

A total of 8,407 Police personnel including 2,978 Police personnel from city, 4,429 Police Officers and staff from various districts and 1,000 Home Guards would be deployed for Dasara security.
