Police raid field, destroy ganja plants

Hunsur:  In a major crackdown on ganja cultivation, the Hunsur Rural Police, who raided a farmland at Kalabochanahalli in the taluk yesterday, have destroyed ganja plants.

Acting on a tip off, the Police raided the farmland of one Shekar, son of Madegowda and destroyed ganja plants grown in the field, besides seizing a plastic sack meant for selling ganja.

The land owner was arrested by the Police and a mahazar was conducted in the presence of gazetted officer Dr. Jogendraraju.
