Pondering over wars and warmongers of the world !

War begins in the minds of men.— Atharvaveda

War is to man, what maternity is to woman.— Benito Mussolini

Has Operation Sindoor accomplished its mission? Yes or No? The answer is both Yes or No. No, because it is only a Ceasefire. How many times Prime Minister Narendra Modi must say this? The answer is Yes, because the objective of Operation Sindoor was dismantling terror hubs inside Pakistan. This has been accomplished.

Why then the Congress is still beating a dead horse? Did Narendra surrender to US President Donald Trump? For the sake of playing on an alliteration, Rahul Gandhi is making this baseless allegation against Modi.

Let me have my two paise say on this. As the conflict escalated after knocking out Pakistan’s Terror Camps numbering 9 out of 21 and Pakistani Airbases were bombed out of operation, Trump must have concluded that his friend Modi has accomplished his primary objective of crippling Pakistan’s terror factories and the conflict should not be allowed to escalate for any longer as he had a bigger military conflict coming for his comfort — Israel attack on Iran — which seemingly he was already in the know.

Obviously, he did not want too many irons in the fire — Ukraine-Russia War, Hamas-Israel, India-Pakistan and impending Israel-Iran.

Therefore, Trump, a Chanakya and Vidura put together, knowing the logistical importance of Pakistan in military conflict with Iran, which has a long border with Pakistan, must have worked out a strategy for Pak-India Ceasefire without making either country feel a loser. Pakistan was already under tremendous heat and relentless attack on its military establishments. A Ceasefire suited both Trump and Pakistan. And there it is — a Ceasefire. But, the ember of Operation Sindoor is glowing in the dark clouds of an ongoing conflict situation. The situation rooms in both the countries must be aware of this.

As for Trump, now he can pay full attention to dismantle Iranian Khamenei Government and hopefully get his Nuclear Deal signed to save the world from a nuclear catastrophe! Who knows, a new Government, militarily toothless, might replace the fundamentalist Islamic regime. Like the Shah Pahlavi’s government, before Ayatollah Khamenei took over as the supreme leader of Iran.

I heard a TV panellist say that the No.1 enemy of Iranian people is the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

It is unfortunate the United Nations (UN) failed in its very first test as a peace-maker of the world when India and Israel sought help to end aggression by their enemies — Pakistan and the Arab States.

The UN faced a challenge on May 14, 1948, as the British withdrew from what had been since 1922 their (British) League of Nations Mandate over Palestine. Just as British withdrew from India on 15th of August 1947.

Five armies from the Arab League invaded the nascent State of Israel the very day it was born. According to UN Secretary-General Trygve Lie, it was a clear case of aggression. The aggression took place despite the UN partition plan of Palestine as Jewish State and Arab State.  If only Arabs had waited to negotiate on the partition, instead of launching an all-out war on Israel, a situation of mutual hatred and everlasting war of the kind we are witnessing since 1948 would not have been there.

Jerusalem, with a mixed population of 1,60,000 had 1,00,000 Jews. But Jerusalem was under siege by the Arab forces in 1948. Thanks to Trump, during his last Presidency Israel shifted its capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Will Trump enable India to get back PoK stolen from India by Pakistan? Let it be known that the world is returning to nationalism based onterritorial integrity.

Much had happened since. PLO Chief Yasser Arafat was a lovable, colourful leader. It was he who famously said in America to the press that Democracy is like coffee. Too much sugar is no good. He meant too much liberty. Let it be.

Just as Israel neutralised the Egyptian Air Force in the six-day war of 1967, India too neutralised  the Air Force bases of Pakistan crippling its air power during the Operation Sindoor. Remember?

In the midst of all this military conflict, how does Iran suddenly find itself fiercely engaged with Israel? After all, 85% of Palestinian Muslims are Sunnis while Iran is a Shia majority country with a minuscule Sunnis. It is because Iran vowed to eliminate the Jewish State and has been supporting Hamas and Palestine cause. It had been working to produce nuclear bomb vowing to liquidate the Jewish State. Naturally Iran was posing an existential threat to Israel. Anyone in Israel’s situation would do what Israel PM Netanyahu is doing for sheer survival.

All things considered, should America enter this war against Iran, we can see a possibility of redrawing of the West Asian Arab world as it happened after the World War-I to the Ottoman  Empire.

We may soon witness a full blown-out war. All wars must end, so also the period of peace.  After all, peace is an interval between two wars!
