New Delhi, July 26 (Agencies)- Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Education, following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, amid protests over NEET question paper leaks.
The President’s Office, after accepting Pradhan’s resignation, confirmed Joshi’s appointment in a communiqué last evening.
“I accept this responsibility with a sense of duty and humility. I am thankful to the Prime Minister. In the last 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government, many historic achievements have been made,” Joshi told reporters in his first comments following the confirmation of the appointment.
After taking charge, Joshi praised the work of his predecessor, saying Dharmendra Pradhan had implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) and several important initiatives over past four to five years.
