Pratibha Puraskar presented to meritorious students

Mysuru:  Karnataka State Vokkaliga Employees Welfare Association had organised a function at Negilayogi Maruleshwara Seva Bhavana in Jayanagar here recently for presentation of Pratibha Puraskar to meritorious students.

District In-Charge Minister G.T. Devegowda and MLA L. Nagendra were felicitated on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Devegowda, said that Dasara festival was fast approaching and with people of the city expecting a grand spectrum of events, he assured to live up to the expectations and sought help and co-operation of all. He contended that the coalition government in the State would implement all the assurances made and added that, the programmes initiated by the previous government too would be continued without any bias or prejudice.

He assured to resolve the issues dogging the Higher-Education sector and added that suggestion has been given to every University to adopt a minimum of five villages and develop them.

Speaking on the occasion,  Nagendra recalled that the blessings of GTD on him had made him successful as Corporator three times and MUDA Chairman. He assured to work for the welfare of the people.

Over 100 students who had come out with flying colours in SSLC and II PU exams were presented Pratibha Puraskar. Sri Someshwaranatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Mysuru Branch graced the occasion. Association President Parameshawara, DDPUE Dayanand, former Mayor R. Lingappa, Retd.Engineer Dr. M. Mahadevaiah and others were present.
