Primitive way of filling potholes !

August 20, 2019

Mysuru: Though modern technologies are there to fill potholes, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is still using primitive method —bricks and mud to cover gaping potholes. Following heavy and continuous rainfall in city, most of the roads are pothole-ridden. Instead of covering the potholes with jelly stones and then asphalting the area, the MCC workers and engineers are covering potholes using bricks and mud. This has raised the question of longevity of the filling. One more rain and it will open up again. Or the hole might cave in if a heavy vehicle passes on it.

Though the intensity of rain has reduced, rain water will again wash off the mud and bricks exposing the potholes again. This debris on the roadside will prove dangerous to motorists, especially two wheelers.
