Private COVID Clinic to provide free treatment for asymptomatic patients

June 10, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: A private COVID Clinic to treat asymptomatic Corona patients has been started in Hinkal Gram Panchayat (GP) limits in the name of former Chief Minister — ‘Sri Siddharamaiah COVID Primary Free Treatment Centre.’ This is first such private COVID Clinic to be started in district, under the leadership of ZP Member Rakesh Papanna.

Varuna MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah inaugurated the Clinic here yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed happiness over starting the Clinic to treat poor patients in the name of Opposition Leader in the State Assembly and former CM, Siddharamaiah. Most of the COVID patients in home isolation in rural areas were scared to get treatment in Government Hospitals and were unable to foot the bill in Private Hospitals. The free Clinic was a boon to the people of Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency. He said that Rakesh Papanna had provided doctors and medical staff, medicine and other facilities to the Clinic. People must make use of the same, he added.

Rakesh Papanna said COVID-19 pandemic has taken heavy toll of people in the country. The Clinic had been started to provide treatment in time and to check the mortality rate. Many villagers were hesitant to take treatment in Hospitals just to avoid contacting the virus. With no knowledge of treatment and inability to take treatment in Private Hospitals, many people were dying.

Keeping this view, a free COVID Clinic has been started for the asymptomatic patients. This Clinic will function from 9 am to 1 pm. Home isolation patients too can visit the Clinic and clarify their doubt, if any, he added.
