Mysuru: Giving a head start to his campaign, with the State Assembly Polls just a couple of months away, the JD(S) party’s declared candidate from Chamaraja constituency, Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore and KSOU, launched his Ward-wise campaign at Sri Rama Mandira in Saraswathipuram Thengina Thopu, coming under Ward No.22 of the MCC on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rangappa said that the current political atmosphere was not conducive for persons like him to enter politics. But he had entered politics to bring about a change and serve the people.
Stating that he had his education staying at Saraswathipuram, Prof. Rangappa maintained that he is closely associated with the constituency for 32 years and there were many of his Professors and students from the area.
Pointing out that the people of the State have witnessed Congress and BJP rule, he appealed the electorate to vote for him and thus help in making H.D. Kumaraswamy as the next Chief Minister, who is very much intent on bringing about a change.
He further said the he will tour all the 22 MCC Wards coming under the constituency and list out the problems faced by slum-dwellers and other people.
Prof. Krishnegowda, Prof. K.T. Veerappa, Prema Shankaregowda, R. Lingappa, Prof. Andani, Ravichandregowda, Manjunath, Punith, Shreyas Rangappa, Shobith Rangappa, Milk Manju, Prajwal Lingappa and others were present.
Rangappa held similar campaigns at his office in Vontikoppal (Ward 32) on Tuesday where he assured of evolving a plan to eradicate unemployment through creation of jobs.
On Wednesday, he addressed a gathering at Medarakeri (Ward 34) and today, he addressed the voters at Kailaspuram (Ward 39), during which he assured the people of addressing their issues as soon as possible, if elected.
