Promising a clerk’s job, miscreants dupe BBM graduate of Rs. 2.80 lakh

Periyapatna: Two persons, promising a clerk’s job at Mysuru’s Jayadeva Hospital has cheated a BBM graduate of Rs. 2.80 lakh and a case has been registered at Periyapatna Police Station.

While the BBM graduate who was cheated is 30-year-old P.C. Pallavi of Panchavalli village in the taluk, the two persons who cheated her, is Somanna, a resident of Vaddera Hosahalli village in Periyapatna and T.N. Madesh, a resident of Turukanakoppa village in K.R. Pet taluk.

Pallavi, who was a graduate had told her father and her husband that she would like to take up a job and her father had told the same to one Somanna, who used to visit his house. In June, 2018, Somanna brought Madesh to the house of Pallavi, where Madesh and Somanna, told Pallavi and her father that there was a vacancy of a clerk’s job at Mysuru’s Jayadeva Hospital besides stating that they have to pay Rs. 4 lakh for getting that job. Pallavi and her family members, believing the two, paid a total of Rs. 4 lakh between June 1 and 19 in 2018 to them. 

As they did not get the job even after four years of paying the money, Pallavi’s family members went to the house of Somanna and demanded him to return the money following which he paid Rs. 1.20 lakh and even after going to the houses of Somanna and Madesh many times, they did not pay the remaining Rs. 2.80 lakh and began to give evasive replies, according to the complaint lodged by Pallavi.

Periyapatna Police, who have registered a case are investigating.
