Property in Hinkal was legally purchased by me: MLC Vishwanath’s son

Amit V. Devarahatti, former Mysuru ZP member and son of BJP MLC A.H. Vishwanath, addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House on Hunsur road here this morning as MUDA member Naveen Kumar and land owner Vaikuntachari look on.

Mysore/Mysuru: Amit Devarahatti, former Mysuru ZP member and son of BJP MLC A.H. Vishwanath, has asserted that the property at Hinkal was duly purchased by him and not encroached upon, as alleged by Karnataka Praja Party (Raitha Parva).

The assertion comes a day after Karnataka Praja Party President Shivanna at a press meet here yesterday, had alleged that Amit had encroached upon a prime land in Hinkal limits.

Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House on Hunsur road here this morning, Amit Devarahatti, rubbished the claims of Shivanna that the Hinkal land was encroached upon by him (Amit).

Pointing out that he had legally purchased the land which comes under Hinkal Survey No. 7/B from the property owner Vaikuntacahri in 2017, Amit said that one Yogesh Kumar had lodged a complaint against him (Amit) saying that he (Yogesh) had purchased the said land in 2015 itself.

Following Yogesh’s complaint, the matter is now in the Court and as such he cannot talk much about the land deal.

“I was forced to call this press meet as Shivanna had targeted my father MLC Vishwanath with an intent of tarnishing his image. The land was legally purchased by me and I have all the necessary documents to prove it”,  he maintained.

Claiming that the Hinkal Gram Panchayat, after scrutiny of  records, had issued him 11/B document certification in respect of the said land, Amit said that he has been paying Tax for the land  in his name since 2018, which is enough proof to say that the land is owned by him.

But with Yogesh’s complaint, the dispute has landed in the Court and  now Shivanna, by making false land encroachment allegations was unfairly targeting his father, he contended.

MUDA member Naveen Kumar and the land owner Vaikuntachari were present at the press meet.
