Apropos to the news item about the proposed flyover near Columbia Asia junction (SOM dated Sept.12) it is imperative that the road ahead leading to Mysuru city needs to be developed and widened without delay as under:

1. From Tipu Circle to Suburban bus stand via St. Philomena’s Hostel/Ambedkar Statue Circle.
2. Tipu Circle to city via Ashoka Road just the way Irwin road is widened. As it involves acquisition of buildings housing shops and commercial establishments, a time-frame needs to be drawn from now itself.

Further, in view of proposed expansion of airport, proposed bullet train from Mysuru to Chennai and probable establishment of new industries, the traffic between Bengaluru and Mysuru is sure to see a huge surge in the next couple of years.

I hope the MCC will initiate necessary steps in coordination with NHAI on an urgent basis.
