Police take 8 ABSS members into custody

Mysuru: Around eight members including Chethan Manjunath, President, Akhanda Bharatha Seva Sena (ABSS), were taken into custody by Saraswathipuram Police while they tried to offer ‘Go puja’ to a cow demanding the State Government to implement the Centre’s ban on cow slaughter.

The members arrived in front of Siddharamaiah’s Ramakrishnanagar residence with the cow and tried to perform the puja and that is when the Police personnel, headed by Saraswathipuram Police Inspector Pooviah, who were present at the spot, stopped the activists and took them to DAR Grounds. Later, the cow was handed over to its owner.

Meanwhile, the sources said that Kumari, owner of the cow, had filed a complaint stating that the activists had taken away the cow while it was grazing near the CM’s residence.

Following this, the Police will get the written undertaking from the eight members before letting them free.
