“Public Eye” and Traffic Police

October 1, 2019

Sir,

Of late we do not find Home Guards at junctions but can see the Traffic Police instead.  These cops will be either sitting beneath the traffic umbrellas  or on their bikes, where there are no traffic umbrellas. Most of the time they are busy talking on their mobile phones.

There are plenty of traffic rules violations happening right under their nose and these offenders are not at all  bothered or scared  about the presence of Traffic Police. I presume that these cops are under the impression that they need not initiate any action against traffic rules violations when they are alone. They  prefer to turn a blind eye against the violations.  Traffic Police are  only interested in pouncing on the  violators discreetly at some street corners or at  junctions.

We, the public upload the pictures of traffic violations in “Public Eye” of the Mysuru City Police and these Traffic cops who stand a better chance than the public to capture traffic rules violations in their mobiles are  not at all  bothered.

If every single Traffic cop starts capturing the traffic rules violations photos and uploading to “Public Eye” of the City Police,  I am sure that the violations will come down drastically. Violators will definitely  think twice before they violate rules where Traffic cops are posted.

I request the higher authorities to instruct the Traffic cops to capture the photos of traffic rules violations and upload the same in  the “Public Eye”.
