Publisher D.N. Lokappa feted

Mysuru: City’s well-known publisher D.N. Lokappa was felicitated on his 70th birthday at ‘D.N. Lokappa-70’ programme organized at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram recently.

Delivering the felicitation address, writer N.S. Taranath said that D.N. Lokappa has been in the publishing industry for nearly three-and-a-half decades, catering to the reading needs of students, teachers, researchers, academicians etc.

Pointing out that Lokappa has published many popular works in almost every field, be it education, literature, play, short stories, etc., he said that Lokappa, through his publication, has contributed in a big way for enhancing the knowledge of readers from all sections of the society.

Taranath further said that every book published by Lokappa was highly valued by book lovers.

State JD(S) President and MLA A.H. Viswanath, in his address, said that D.N. Lokappa was one of the best publishers of the State.

Pointing out that Lokappa has a dream of creating a ‘Book Park,’ Vishwanath wished the publisher all success in realizing his dream.

‘Lokapriya,’ a felicitation volume and ‘Lokapriya Lokappa,’ a book authored by writer Jinahalli Siddalingappa, were released. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Taralabalu Mutt Seer Sri Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji graced the occasion. Veteran littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishanakumar presided.

Former MLC Thontadarya, Poetess Dr. Latha Rajashekar, Mahindramani Lokappa (wife of D.N. Lokappa), M.G. Sadanandaiah, H.M. Ganesh Prasad and others were present.
