Mysore/Mysuru: The newly built Puri Jagannath Temple by Puri Jagannath Cultural and Welfare Trust, Mysuru, at Vidyaranyapuram, off H.D. Kote Road, opposite Friendly Motors Service Centre, will be inaugurated on Aug. 30 on the auspicious occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami. 

Addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in the city recently, Ghanashyam Pradhan, Managing Trustee of the Trust said that \on that day at 7.30 am, the ‘Prana Pratishtapana’ will be held followed by a series of rituals. 

Krishnaraja MLA S.A. Ramdas, Nanjangud MLA B. Harshavardhan, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy and Corporators Bhuvaneshwari and Shanthamma will be the chief guests, he added. 

The Lord Jagannath Temple at Puri is one of the oldest and famous temples in the world but many people cannot go there to have a darshan. There are more than 5,000 Odias staying in Mysuru working in various sectors and at the same time, apart from Odiyas, there are many believers of the Lord. This temple has been built for the benefit of all the devotees at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh, he added.
