Puttannaiah’s death: Investigation intensifies

February 21, 2018

Mandya: Following the death of farmer leader K.S. Puttannaiah (1949-2018) on Feb.18, there are various theories doing the rounds about his passing away and according to sources, the Police Department has launched a secret investigation.

The details about the programmes he attended on that day from morning till evening and the persons who were with him, what he had for breakfast and lunch are all being gathered, said the source.

After Puttannaiah complained of chest pain, he was first taken to a private hospital and from there to the District Hospital where the doctors there had confirmed that he had died before he reached the hospital. A controversy has also arisen because his body was taken to his native village Kyathanahalli by the people who were with him. Hence, only after thorough investigation can the truth come out. The family is awaiting the arrival of Puttannaiah’s daughters Smitha and Askshatha from America and his sister Renuka from Canada. His last rites will be performed tomorrow.
