Railway employees stage protest against privatisation

Mysore/Mysuru: Opposing the move to privatise the Railway Department and fulfilment of various demands, the members of South Western Railway Mazdoor Union (Hubballi), Mysuru Division, staged a protest at Mysuru Railway Station on Sunday.

Shouting slogans such as ‘Save Railways – Save India,’ the protesters demanded adequate compensation be paid to employees who had died of COVID, stop corporatisation of Railway Production Units, fill up of vacant posts and scrap NPS and introduce old pension scheme among other demands.

South Western Railway Mazdoor Union (Hubballi), Mysuru Division, Divisional President S. Somashekar, Secretary P. Shivaprakash, office-bearers Nagendran, Fernandes, Sripathi, V. Shivakumar, C. Shivakumar and others took part in the protest.
