Atul Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, Mysuru, launched the anti-measles & rubella vaccination campaign from South Western Railway Hospital premises on Feb. 7.
A total of 80 children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years of Bharathi Sthree Samaja and Government High School and Higher Primary Schools were administered anti-measles & rubella vaccine on day-1. The SWR Hospital has a target of vaccinating over 1,500 children, including over 400 children of Lalitha Railway School in the present phase of the campaign lasting up to 28th of this month.
A photo exhibition was also organised in the Railway Hospital on this occasion. A skit was performed by staff of SWR to spread awareness on the need to have the vaccination administered to children and protect them from these life-threatening diseases. Shobha Jagannath, Addl. Chief Medical Superintendent, SWR, Mysuru, delivered a Health Education lecture.
