Mysuru: A.K. Gupta, General Manager, South Western Railway (SWR), presented safety certificates and cash award to three Railway staff for their commendable work in preventing unsafe incidents, at the Weekly Safety Review Meeting held in the Conference Hall of Rail Soudha in Hubballi on Oct.9.

During track patrol duty on Sept.19, Tirumalesha, Head Constable/Bengaluru Cantt.;  Chandramani, Constable, Tiruchchirapalli and R.S. Sunda – Constable, Tiruchchirapalli, noticed rail fracture at KM 352/400 – 500 between Bengaluru Cantt. and KSR Bengaluru Stations. Immediately, the information was disseminated to all officials concerned for taking necessary action.  

Inspector of Railway Protection Force, Bengaluru Cantonment, along with Senior Section Engineer, Permanent Way and Station Master of Bengaluru Cantonment, rushed to the spot.  The timely action taken by the RPF patrolling party averted a mishap.
