Railway tout booked; tickets worth Rs. 4.80 lakh seized

Mysore/Mysuru: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the South Western Railway Mysuru Division have apprehended a tout and seized tickets and computer systems worth over 4.80 lakh.

The house of Omprakash Patil in Hebbal was raided by the RPF and live (current) tickets worth Rs.4,349 and past journey tickets worth Rs. 3,87,770 and computer systems worth Rs. 88,000 were seized from his possession.

According to the RPF, Omprakash used to buy tickets in bulk and as the demand peaks, he used to sell them keeping a profit of Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 per ticket. A case has been registered and a notice has been issued to him. Further legal process is on, they added.
