Raitha Dasara: All eyes on Bandur sheep

The premier Bandur Sheep from Bandur village near Malavalli is the centre of attraction at the ongoing Raitha Dasara at the J.K. Grounds. The dwarf sheep, white in colour and well-built when compared to other breeds, is exclusively bred at Bandur. The breed is popular for its wool and meat. Weighing anywhere between 30 and 35 kg, Bandur sheep rearing is the main occupation of villagers in and around Bandur.
