Mysore/Mysuru: Marking 71st Republic Day celebrations, the History Department of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, in association with Expert Numismatist M.N. Muralikrishna, had recently organised a Numismatics expo at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam auditorium, here at the college premises. 

Coins dating back to 200-300 years, varying in size and weight, were displayed at the exhibition which also included rare silver and copper coins engraved with images of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George and other famous historical personalities. Also on the display were  coins used during the Wadiyar reign and rare currency notes from Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Yugoslavia, Turkey and one from Malaysia with an image of Lord Ganesha on it. The exhibition was inaugurated by Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa. College Principal Dr. S. Venkataramu, History Dept. HoD Sridhar and others were present.
