Ration Kits distributed to Tribal Community

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its campaign to feed the tribal families and their children who live in Nagarahole and Bandipur forest area who are most affected by the economic repercussions of COVID-19, Baalya Trust, a volunteer organisation in Mysuru that has been working for children from difficult circumstances and marginalised backgrounds, with the financial support of Mysore Amity Round Table 156 Charitable Trust (MART 156) and Mysore Amity Ladies Circle 108 (MALC 108), have distributed ‘Dry Ration Kits’ each consisting of rice (5 kg), wheat flour (2.5 kg), ragi flour (2.5 kg), toor daal (1 kg), horse gram (1 kg), cooking oil (1 litre), red chilli powder (100 gm), turmeric powder (100 gm), salt (1 pack) — to 50 tribal families at Motha Kere Hadi in H.D. Kote taluk. 

MART 156 and MALC 108 also supported the Anganwadi children of the tribal village with 78 recreational story and activity books and 13 board games including 3 jigsaw puzzles. The donation of dry rations was preceded by an awareness session on safety measures to be followed in the wake of COVID-19. 

MART 156 and MALC 108 also donated hand sanitisers to the village community as part awareness on against COVID-19, following safety measures. Round Table India (RTI), during the time of National Lockdown due to COVID crisis, launched the initiative of ‘RTI Kitchen’ under which, over 55 lakh meals were distributed all over India in a span of 45 days.
