February 1, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Readymade garments, furniture, computer and other materials, worth lakhs of rupees, were gutted in an early morning fire at a readymade garments showroom on Nrupatungua Road, near Kuvempunagar Complex in city.

Morning walkers, who noticed thick smoke emanating from Raj Fashions at about 5 am, informed Kuvempunagar Police and also Saraswathiopuram Fire Brigade.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot along with a fire extinguishing vehicle, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further. But the fire had already destroyed clothes and other materials in the readymade garments showroom by then.

It is learnt that electric short circuit was the reason behind the fire and the exact amount of loss would be known only after the owner gives his statement.

Kuvempunagar Police have registered a case in this regard.
