Mysore/Mysuru: The 136th birth anniversary of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was celebrated by Karnataka Sena Pade by offering floral tribute to a portrait of Nalwadi and by distributing ‘Mysore Pak’ to the public at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple premises this morning.

DCP A.N. Prakash Gowda, Palace Board Dy. Director T.S. Subramanya and Industrialist M.N. Doreswamy, who were the chief guests on the occasion, were felicitated with Mysuru Peta.

Speaking to media on the occasion, Prakash Gowda said that ‘Mysore Pak’ was introduced by Maharajas and Karnataka Sena Pade is distributing the same sweet on the eve of Nalwadi’s Jayanti. “We should be indebted to Mysore Royal Family as their contribution to the growth of Kannada land is immense,” he said.

Karnataka Sena Pade District President Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, recalling the contributions of the late Maharaja, urged the State Government to recommend Nalwadi’s name for Bharat Ratna posthumously.
