Regional Conference: LIC agents seek abolition of GST on Insurance Premium

Mysuru: LIC Agents Association, Mysuru wing had organised a regional conference of LIC Agents at Sara Convention Hall in Dattagalli here recently.

Over 2000 LIC Agents of the region participated in the event.

Inaugurating the programme, Association National President S.B. Srinivasachari regretted that imposing GST on life insurance premium was a negative effect on new policies. He said that the Union Government had earned a revenue of Rs. 2,923 crore through GST on premium amount last year. He urged the government to withdraw GST on premium to facilitate the policy holders and the agents to motivate new policy seekers.

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) Member Rajavardhan Reddy and Mysuru Division Senior Development Officer K. Ananthapadmanabha spoke. Association Mysuru Region President V.G. Ashok presided. Mayor B. Bhagyavati, LIC Regional Manager (Andhra-Telangana) Jaganath and others were present.
