Remove all eyesore barricades

January 31, 2019

Mysuru:  City Police Commissioner K.T Balakrishna, who held a review meeting of Traffic Police Department at his Office on Jan.29, directed the Officers to remove all ugly traffic barricades and road blocks on major roads, junctions in all Traffic Police Station limits.

He said that such road blocks has become an eyesore. Officials must remove the old ones and replace them with new ones if necessary. Police officers must seek permission from higher ups of their Department before replacing the old barricades.

Book cases: Expressing serious concern on the increase in road accidents, he said unscientific road development works, pothole ridden roads, unscientific road humps were identified as some of the reasons for accidents.

There is a provision in law to book cases against Civic Bodies like MCC, MUDA and other government agencies if accidents were caused by their lapses. Traffic Police should not hesitate to book cases against them if norms are violated, he added.
