Renowned Kannada Writer Sara Abubakar passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: Renowned Kannada writer Sara Abubakar passed away today at a private Hospital in Mangaluru. She was 86 years old.

Hailing from Kasaragod district of Kerala, she had written several books including Chandragiri Theeradalli. Sara was born on June 30, 1936 in a village on the Chandragiri coast of Kasaragod.

Sara was the daughter of P. Ahmed, a lawyer and Chinabi couple. She did her Primary education in her hometown and completed her high school in Kasaragod.

She is survived by four sons and a host of  relatives, well-wishers and friends. Arrangements have been made for the public to pay their last respects to the writer at her Mangaluru residence. The last rites will be performed at 8 pm today, according to sources.
