Researchers stage protest

Mysuru:  Members of the Mysore University Research Scholars Association staged a protest demanding release of scholarship amount every month on time, free laptops and separate hostel facilities.

The members gathered in front of the University Library in Manasagangothri campus here yesterday and shouted slogans against University of Mysore and University Grants Commission (UGC).

They alleged that both are taking a stand against Dalit and Backward Classes students. They demanded that instead of forcing students to do research in Maharaja’s College which lacks facilities, they should be allowed to do research in the parent departments in Manasagangothri which have all the facilities.

Association Vice-President Ramraj, Secretary B.C. Raghu, Lokesh, Sunil Kumar, Surendra, Ningaraju, Pradeep, Ravikumar, Asha, Siddappa, Arun, Shivakumar and others participated  in the protest.
