Residents allege encroachment of public road by Church

Mysuru: The residents of Gandhinagar have alleged that the Church of South India (CSI) was trying to encroach a public road near the auto stand at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle.

The residents who alleged that the CSI, which had encroached the public road and a vacant space in front of Karunalaya Church and had constructed a compound, was now trying to encroach the public road near the auto stand besides installing a board stating that the land belonged to CSI. A few people who were fencing the said area, were stopped from doing so, said the residents who staged protest.

The protestors said that they have submitted a memorandum through Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Dalita Mahasabha to the Regional Commissioner seeking a thorough investigation and to clear the encroachment besides seeking action against erring officials.

Puttarangaswamy, Nagaraju, Basavaraju, Diwakar, Mohan, Deepak, Santosh and others were present.
