Residents protest, file cheating complaint

September 19, 2018

Mysuru: Over 200 people from Kuvempunagar and surrounding areas have filed complaints against S. Manjunath who owns Pranitha Properties and Infrastructure Limited at Kuvempunagar this morning for allegedly cheating them to the tune of crores of rupees by promising them house sites.

The complainants accused Manjunath of collecting money that ranged from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh since a couple of years. He had opened an office at Kuvempunagar and simultaneously was running a chit fund business.

This morning, a large number of people who were allegedly cheated by Manjunath assembled at his house at Kuvempunagar and staged a protest. They alleged that Manjunath had gone absconding and they had lost their hard-earned money.

Soon, the Police intervened and asked people not to create trouble in the area. They were convinced by the Police to file complaints. Accordingly, over 200 people filed the complaints today.
