Residents upset over tree felling near Ittigegud

January 2, 2019

Mysuru:  Residents of Ittigegud were up in arms against a man for cutting the branches of fully grown trees next to their houses at Ittigegud in city here this morning.

The residents were angry as the man was indiscriminately chopping the branches of trees without bringing it to the notice of City Corporation authorities  and not seeking necessary permission from the Forest Department.

The residents accused the man of cutting down the branches of trees on the pretext that the tree was obstructing sunlight to his house and dry tree leaves blocking the drainage connecting  his house.

Wordy duel ensued between the man and residents of the area for some time.

Following a complaint, Forest Department officials and area  Corporator inspected the spot.
