Rider injured in accident dies at hospital

Mysuru:  A moped rider, who was seriously injured when a maxi cab hit him near the Gun House on Tuesday night, died at a hospital in city on the same day.

The deceased is R. Gopalakrishna (68), a resident of Vidyanagar here.

A tailor by profession, Gopalakrishna was returning home from the shop at Nanjumalige on his TVS moped (KA-02-Q-0427) and was proceeding near the Gun House road, when a maxi cab (KA-02-AB-7389) coming from Hardinge Circle side rammed into the moped at Gun House-Nanjangud Road junction resulting in Gopalakrishna suffering serious head injuries.

He was immediately rushed to the nearby JSS Hospital and later his family members shifted him to K.R. Hospital, where the doctors after examining declared him dead, according to the Police.

KR Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
