Two killed as bikes collide head-on

H.D. Kote: A 40-year-old rider was killed on the spot when the bike  he was riding collided head-on with another two-wheeler near Malali on H.D. Kote –Malali Road this morning.

Puttaswamy (40), of Malali and an employee of Jungle Lodges and Resorts is the deceased.

Puttaswamy was travelling for work at 8.30 am when his bike collided head-on with another bike coming in the opposite direction.

Due to the impact of the collision, Puttaswamy, who sustained serious injuries died on the spot, while Diwakar, the rider of another bike sustained injuries. The injured Diwakar was said to be transporting liquor illegally for distribution among villagers.

Angry villagers alleging that Diwakar was carrying a bag containing liquor staged a demonstration for some time and did not even allow Diwakar to be shifted to hospital. But the Police who arrived at the spot, shifted him to the hospital, it is learnt.

Beechanahalli Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
