Rider killed as car rams into bike

Mysuru: A bike rider was killed on the spot when a car rammed into the bike he was riding near Maratikyathanahalli Gate in the taluk on Saturday night.

The deceased is Gowdaiah (40), son of Kempachhagowda and a resident of Doddamaaragowdanahalli in the taluk. He leaves behind his wife and two children.

A construction labourer, Gowdaiah, after finishing his work was proceeding towards his home on Mysuru-Bogadi Road, when a speeding Toyota Etios car rammed into his bike and sped away resulting in Gowdaiah suffering from serious head injuries and breathing his last on the spot.

Jayapura Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem besides registering a case.

Meanwhile, Jayapura Police, who had launched a hunt to trace the car and its driver, traced the car near Roopa Nagar. The driver had parked the car and had fled from the spot. The Police, who have seized the car are on the lookout for the absconding driver.
