Rovers and Rangers activities launched

Mysuru: Rovers and Rangers activities 2019-20, organised by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College in city, was inaugurated by State Organising Commissioner (retd.) Janaki Venugopal recently.

Addressing the students, she said: “Scouting is outing. Scouting is an outdoor skill oriented and adventure activities oriented training organisation started in 1907 by Baden Powell which celebrated Centenary in 2007. At present, there are more than 28 million Scouts all over the world in more than 216 countries. Orienting the students to become law-abiding citizens, protection of nature, service to the humanity are some motives of Scout organisation.”

District Secretary of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Abdul Jameel addressed the students and said: “Scouting is living with the nature. It is a voluntary organisation, irrespective of any religion, caste, or creed. In India, Rajasthan stands first and Karnataka stands second place in conducting activities and contributing to a healthy society.”

District Chief Commissioner of  Bharat Scouts and Guides and Hon. Secretary of Vidyavardhaka Sangha P. Vishwanath presided over the programme. Hon. Treasurer of Vidyavardhaka Sangha Srishaila Rammannavar was the chief guest. 

T. Nagaraju was the guest of honour. Prof. R. Aravind welcomed. Principal Dr. S. Marigowda also spoke. Ranger leader Mubin Taj, Rovers, Rangers and other students were present during the occasion.
