Mysuru: A 21-year-old scooter rider died at a hospital, while the pillion rider is undergoing treatment after a car collided head-on with the scooter near VTU College at Sathagalli here yesterday afternoon.

While the deceased is Javeed Pasha (21), a resident of Ghousianagar, the injured is Syed Salman.

Yesterday afternoon, Javeed and Salman were proceeding on a Honda Activa scooter (KA-55 W-6635) near VTU College, when a speeding car (KA-51 MF-9537), coming from Mahadevapura Road side, collided head-on with the scooter.

Passersby rushed the seriously injured Javeed and Salman to a private hospital where Javeed succumbed to injuries after failing to respond to the treatment.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
