Rider killed as lorry rams into scooter

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a lorry rammed into the scooter he was riding near Tanthigudlu on Mysuru-Bannur Road yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as Nagendra (26), a resident of Kirugaval village in Mandya. Nagendra was proceeding on his Honda Dio scooter (KA-11-EN-9665) at about 8 pm yesterday, when the lorry (KA-09-A-8086), which was going towards Bannur from Mysuru side, rammed into the scooter coming from the opposite direction killing Nagendra on the spot. While front portion of the lorry has been damaged, the scooter is beyond recognition due to the impact.

Mysuru Rural Inspector M. Mahesh, Varuna Sub-Inspectors R. Lakshmi and S. Ramu, visited the spot and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides clearing the vehicles involved in the accident from the spot. Varuna Police have registered a case.
