Mandya:  A two-wheeler rider was killed, while the pillion rider suffered serious injuries when a car rammed into their bike on the highway near Malavalli here this morning.

While the deceased is identified as Kiran, a resident of Tadagavadi in Srirangapatna taluk, the seriously injured is Bhaskar, a resident of Seehalli, who is undergoing treatment at MIMS Hospital.

Being construction workers, Kiran and Bhaskar were proceeding to Malavalli early in the morning today, when the accident took place.

Malavalli Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
