Tent School and Library for children of Mahouts and Kavadis at Palace

Mysuru: The Tent School to provide education to the children of Mahouts and Kavadis, who are taking care of Dasara elephants, commenced formally at Mysore Palace premises on Monday. The School also has a Library facility

The Government is running the Tent School for the last ten years in order to help such children to continue their education.

The Department of Public Instruction, which will run Tent School for 50 days, has deputed Noor Fatima as teacher. As many as 20 students attended  classes on the opening day. Textbooks and uniforms were distributed on the occasion.

District Minister G.T. Devegowda will formally inaugurate the Tent School  soon. As many as 30 students will continue their eduction from class 1 to 8 in this school.

BEO Shivakumar, BRC N.K. Nagesh, ECO Kumar, BRP Kusuma, Jalajakshi, IERT Indira, Prabhuswamy, CRP  Veenashri, Kavyashree and others were present during the commencement of the Tent School.
