Rider killed in school bus-bike collision

Mysuru:  A 23-year-old bike rider was killed on-the-spot when a school bus reportedly collided with the bike near Manasagangothri Open Air Theatre last evening.

The deceased is Yashwanth Gowda, a resident of K.G. Koppal in city, who was working as a receptionist at a hotel on Hunsur Road here.

Yashwanth was on his way from Paduvarahalli to K.G. Koppal and when he was proceeding near Manasagangothri Open Air Theatre, a school bus coming in the opposite direction reportedly collided head-on with the bike resulting in Yashwanth sustaining serious head injuries. Though he was being rushed to a nearby hospital, he breathed his last mid way, according to the Police.

Inspector Prakash and staff, who rushed to the spot, inspected the spot, seized both the vehicles and have launched a hut to nab the absconding bus driver, who had fled from the spot soon after the mishap.

A case has been registered at V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station in this regard.
