Rider killed as lorry hits scooter

Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed when a lorry hit his scooter near the K.R. Mills Police check-post here last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Basavalingappa (59), a resident of Siddalingapura on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.

Basavalingappa was proceeding on his scooter (KA-09 HB-5407) from Columbia Asia Hospital side towards Srirangapatna, when a Tamil Nadu lorry (TN-47 AJ-6435) coming from behind hit the scooter near K.R. Mills check-post resulting in Basavalingappa sustaining serious injuries.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last midway. N.R. Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
