Road safety awareness for City Bus drivers

Mysuru: An awareness programme on road safety and traffic rules to be followed by KSRTC City Bus drivers and technical staff was held in city recently.

About 400 drivers from Kuvempunagar and Sathagalli Bus Depots were educated about accident zones, accident prevention, consequences on rash and negligent driving, traffic rules and Motor Vehicle Act by resource persons.

Also, awareness on regular maintenance of vehicles, one-way rule, jumping signals, stopping the buses only in designated bus bays, safety of passengers during boarding and alighting from buses, safety of luggage was created among drivers and conductors.

The drivers were asked to be careful while negotiating turns and while moving on heavy traffic roads without causing inconvenience to other motorists to bag ‘Accident-free bus and driver’ appreciation.
